Fannie Bay Gaol
03/01/2012 by FeedCrazy.
If your on a campervan hire Australia trip and are visiting Darwin and wish to see an historical landmark with a past more in accordance with the darker aspect of living, then you might want to have a look at Fannie Bay Gaol. This edifice to law and order sits on a prime piece of real estate in the middle of one of Darwin’s most elect suburbs, overlooking Fannie Bay.
From the road, you only see a dark, high walled area that looks trusting enough from the outside and gives no proof of what sits behind. When it was first built, Fannie Bay was well away from the settlement of Darwin, which was originally built around the Darwin Harbour area thanks to the shipping. Now though, Fannie Bay, including the Gaol is one of Darwin’s inner suburbs.
When the gaol was originally built, Darwin was a very coarse frontier town and it is not surprising that a gaol was required. The climate and environment were tricky and so too were it’s settlers. Alcohol fuelled violence and general lawlessness was common, so the gaol tended to offer a home away from home for drunken battlers.
The gaol was employed from 1883 thru to 1979 and the original building had 16 stone cells, a wash house and a kitchen. The cells were and still are, hot airless little boxes and would've been more than upsetting to occupy. In 1887 a hospice was added. The gallows is still there as well and the last hanging was as fresh as 1952. A female section was added in 1928.
The 1950’s saw a rise in occupants with a ‘native ‘ section, a remand section and a maximum security area being added. At the end, it would be a neat place to avoid and one can simply imagine how hot and upsetting it could have been to be locked up there for any period of time.
This draft was penned by Anton Maverick who has travelled Australia at length by campervan he reccomends when touring the southern states either campervan Hire Sydney or campervan hire Melbourne good luck with your travels.

Payday Loans For Christmas
03/01/2012 by FeedCrazy.
I would like to tell you the story of a time when I got a payday loan. I applied for and received my payday loan about this time last year. I knew I needed a payday loan because it was almost Christmas and I hadn’t done any shopping yet. My employer had issued a letter to me that I would be receiving a holiday bonus, but that holiday bonus was not going to arrive until the 20th December. I wanted a payday loan now, so that I could finish up my holiday shopping before the stores started getting crazy crowded. I had never applied for a cash advance payday loan before, but my sister had. She told me about a great website that offered payday loans online. I decided to take her advice and apply for an online payday loan.
I could not believe how easy it was to apply for an online payday loan. Better yet, my payday loan was approved within an hour! To give you a representative example of how my payday loan worked, I will tell you the details of the cash advance I had requested. When applying for the payday loan, the online application asked me for my personal information, current state of employment or income and they also asked fro my bank account number.
I submitted the application and cash advance request amount for $250. Within an hour the $250 that I had asked for in my payday loan application was deposited directly into my bank account. I was also sent an email to confirm that I was issued a $250 loan at an APR interest rate of 20%. The payday loan email confirmation also confirmed that my loan would be due within thirty days. This was perfect timing for me; because I would receive my holiday bonus a few days before the payday loan would be due.
On the date my payday loan was due, the payday loan lenders auto withdrew the total amount payable of $300 from my bank account. This was the amount I expected them to withdraw because 20% of $250 is $50 and that gives a total amount due of $300. The application process for requesting a payday loan was very easy and I received the cash so fast that I was able to start my holiday shopping right away. Thank goodness for my cash advance payday loan. If it was not for that cash advance payday loan, I would have had to charge everything to my credit card and my credit card has an APR interest rate of 30%. If I had used my credit card on Christmas, I would have had to pay $325 instead of only $300. With that extra $25 that I saved on Christmas, I bought myself anew holiday sweater with reindeer on it.
My payday loan went exactly as planned and could not have been easier. With the cash advance payday loan that I was able to borrow, I was able to give my kids the best Christmas they had had in several years and I was able to treat myself nice for the holidays too. If I ever need quick cash again, I will not hesitate to apply for payday loans online because I know how easy it is. Thank you payday loans!
