The Great Joy Of Becoming A Dad
04/04/2010 by FeedCrazy.
In this article I write about my joy of becoming a parent and about how my life has changed since the birth of my son. It came as quite a shock to me a few years ago when my girlfriend told me that she was pregnant. We had in truth been trying for a baby, but I never thought it would happen. I have no idea why this was; I am fully aware of just how crazy I am at times. At the outset I am quite happy to admit that I was a little bit worried about the prospects of becoming a dad; I was unsure as to whether I would be up for the job, as it were, and was also unsure as to whether I was mature enough. The end result though was truly amazing and my son has certainly made my life complete.
I have always been far more interested in business than becoming a dad; I am involved with various projects to do with composite doors, helping people to obtain cheap hotel deals and also offering clients a stuttering treatment course.
The feeling of emotion and happiness when I first set eyes on and held my son is very hard to describe . He was so cute, so tiny seemingly as light as a feather. I was handed some milk to feed him and he soon started to knock it back, a bit like me with the beer I thought to myself. To my astonishment and fear I was left all alone in the room with my new born son; totally unaware of how to look after such a tiny child - my son’s mum had gone off for a relaxing bath - which it has to be said she fully deserved. I was left feeling very pleased and contented as I had just become a dad for the first time but I also had a strange feeling of needing someone else there just in case something went wrong. I could not stop staring at him, he was so perfect. Looking back I now realise how crazy I was to be nervous about the whole thing - it is something that without a doubt has changed my life for the better.
My whole attitude to life has now changed, in the past socialising with my friends was a massive part of my life. Even though I still do go out with them, I have to say it is probably only around half as much as I used to. You might think I am sad but when I am out I do miss all of my family including my son.
Every morning he is the first one to wake up and walks into our room and says, morning! I wake up and there in front of me is my son with a beaming smile on his face. Can you get me some breakfast dad please? He loves his food! This is the best type of alarm I have ever had.
I have always been the type of person who is often anxious and stressed. This it has to be said can be known to lead to a stage of continued depression. Nowadays whenever I feel any of these symptoms I spend as much time as possible with my son as he soon puts a smile back onto my face.

How To Care For Your Senior Dog
04/04/2010 by FeedCrazy.
Dogs are companions in many households in the United States. There are approximately seventy five million dogs in this country. This translates into a dog in almost forty percent of households. Dogs are a commitment to a family for a long time. Many breeds can live fifteen to eighteen years. A dog is considered senior once it is over seven years old.
Over time feeding requirements will change. There are senior dog feeds that can help with the aging dog. They add ingredients that are good for bone health, digestive health and kidney functioning. Consult your veterinarian to find out what is a good food to feed your dog.
Many dog owners like to make homemade food for their senior dog. Talk to your vet to make sure that the diet you are feeding them meets their daily requirements. Also over the years a dog may have lost some teeth. Softening the food is a good way to help him eat his food. A good trick is to pour warm chicken or beef broth over the hard kibble. Let it sit and soften up. The dog will finish the bowl in no time and it is easier for them to chew.
Some senior dogs slow down. They do not get around as fast as they once did. They do not show as much pep in their step. They sleep a lot. A foam dog bed is a great way to help them rest themselves. The beds come in all sizes to accommodate different breeds of dogs. There is even an extra large dog bed that can fit such giant breeds such as the Great Pyrenees.
A lot of older pets do not care for the colder weather. They feel more comfortable inside sleeping on their bed. Putting a portable space heater near them will keep them warm and snug. Your pet will gladly thank you for the hospitality.
Keeping the senior dog active is a great way to keep him healthy. A senior dog still needs exercise to keep him feeling good. You may find that you have to shorten walks for him but he will still enjoy getting some fresh air. Remember he’s a senior now so take it easy. The pooch may not be able to run a full mile with you. Be reasonable in your expectations.
Many dogs are like family members. As a senior, many dogs need a little extra care and supervision. Taking good care of the dog will help him stay healthy and enjoy his golden years.

Hobbies Are A Great Way To Spend Your Free Time
04/04/2010 by FeedCrazy.
Everyone needs a hobby or two that they can enjoy doing in their free time or when they just want to relax. Hobbies can be just about anything that you really enjoy doing. Whichever one you choose, work at it, and learn to do it well.
If you don’t have a hobby yet, there are several things you can do to find one. Talk with your friends and family members. Ask them what their hobbies are, and ask them to show them to you and tell you about them.
At the library, you can find a variety of books on hobbies. They will explain the details of each one. Select some hobbies that interest you. Go online and learn all you can about the ones that you picked out. Continue to narrow them down until you have chosen your two favorites.
Take up guitar playing as a hobby, and you will be amazed at how much you enjoy it. A Takamine acoustic guitar is a great guitar to purchase. It is reasonably priced and is known for being long lasting and durable.
There are several ways you can learn to play the guitar. You can buy a book that tells you how to play and where to place your fingers, or you can take free guitar lessons on the internet. Whenever you are with friends who know how to play, ask them to show you chords and give you tips. Practice playing along with them.
Guitars are great instruments to take with you no matter where you go. You can stop along the road when you’re driving and get tired, or you can sit under a tree at a park and strum your guitar. This is a hobby that will bring you lots of enjoyment.
Scrapbooking is another hobby that has become increasingly popular. If you are a Disney fan, purchase a Disney scrapbook to put your photo pages in. It’s a great way to show off your work to your family and friends.
You will need scrapbooking paper to put your pictures on. You can choose from pages that are a solid color, that have a special theme or that have a pretty design. The only thing you need to be careful about is that they are acid and lignin free so they will stay pretty for a longer time.
Most craft stores have a large variety of different kinds of adhesive that you can choose from. Be careful to choose one that will be easy to work with and that will keep the items on your page for a long time.
Choose a black pen to start with. Once you learn the basics, you can purchase other colors if you want to. Your pen should have pigment ink that is fade proof and water proof so your scrapbook pages will look fresh and new for years to come. This pen will be used to doodle on your pages.
Scrapbooking allows you to be creative in finding ways to display your photo memories. This will keep them foremost in your mind. The fun part about this hobby is that others will enjoy looking at it as much as you enjoy doing it.
