Self discipline more….

Before I show you my portfolio of my favourite web tools that almost certainly help you to work remotely, I wanted to write about one more issue connected with self discipline and specifically to do with maintaining your focus and powers of concentration

I’ve observed and established a consistent trait in members of both sexes who work on the Internet and I’ve known for over a long time line and I call this trait the 50 minute effect. I uncovered these individuals who focus and work for 50 minutes and then take a complete 10 mins. rest and are a significant order of magnitude more efficient and generate a much higher quality of work than individuals who don’t have similar working methods.

OK as promised here is my list of choice remote working web applications:

Electronic Mail

Google Mail is free. But in my opinion the search and label (categories) functions are superior to anything I have previously seen. Googlemail can be a little slow on aging PC’s

Phone calls

Skype
used to drive me crazy as the call stability was atrocious, but a big pat on the back for the developers at Skype now as they have substantially changed the quality of the service. For just a few bucks a quarter ! am able to call and conference in any handset and Skype user on Earth. The latest edition of Skype has an abundance of very practical features and there are now plenty of of valuable add ons.

Organising Content

Evernote
has acquired more than a million users in no time at all – it lets you to store, organise and annotate any type of digital media in the Cloud. Just go check it out…it’s free.

Invoicing, Time and Expenses capture, Accounting and CRM

You probably know that my burning desire to work remotely was originally encouraged by [2] Quickbooks Online, a [3] small business accounting software web application. But it is no match for the free edition of salesorder.com – a lead to cash system that’s as easy to use as a fork I looked at [4] NetSuite whose pricing (and people) scared me off. My choice here is salesorder.com – Go check it out.
