Save Your Family from Periodontal Disease
19/06/2009 by FeedCrazy.
Periodontal Disease is a more advanced stage of gingivitis and gum disease. All three terms are basically descriptions for different stages of the same disease. Dental professionals will go much more in depth on the classifications of stages of this disease, but intrinsically, the same theoretical cause is the base of all three of these.
Periodontal disease is fairly serious and can lead to tooth loss. In fact, it is the number one cause of tooth loss and not cavities as one might suppose. The problem is that many people don’t understand that they even have this disease nor do they have a clue on what to do about it or how to prevent it in the first place.
You see many people have the blind belief that brushing and flossing will keep them periodontal disease free. This myth is fed by the truth that there really are some people who this is enough for.
However, because the statistics are so high when it comes to the number of people who actually have gum disease, common sense dictates that mere brushing and flossing actually is not enough for many or even most people.
What can be done? There appears to be a bit of a gap between what is understood by the masses on brushing and flossing and what can really work to stop or prevent periodontal disease. There are tools and techniques that you can utilize to do more towards preventing the build up of plaque that eventually leads to the more advanced problems. Look for the links at the bottom of this article to find out what you can do to prevent periodontal disease or stop it from progressing.
However, please understand that there is no magic one thing that works for all people, everywhere. If it were so simple, then the large industry that is supported by this problem would not exist. As in most things, you have to experiment a little to find what will work for you.
If you think this isn’t a big problem or a big industry, go spend a few hours in the lobby of a periodontist and you will likely change your mind. Find out what you can do today to stop this problem from afflicting you or your family.

What room in your house do you prefer?
19/06/2009 by FeedCrazy.
We all have our favourite rooms- the bedroom, the kitchen, the garage -but which is yours? While some like to go somewhere else just to get away some people actually enjoy watching all the drama unfold in the living room.
- The bedroom. More the favoured room of the younger family members, while being sent to the room is the punishment for younger children, teenagers never seem to leave it. Its their taste of ‘freedom’ from their parents, giving them some say over what happens in that room. Your parents will use it to sleep and store their clothes -and not much else.
- The living room. Usually the central hub of family actvity, though im sure the comfy sofas have nothing to do with that. The whole family gather round the telly to eat dinner or during prime time and the rooms gonna see the family members coming in and out alot. Most of the time this is where family discussions will take place, and might see the parents spend more of their time than the kids.
- The bathroom. It will see everyone jump into it in the morning -so be prepared for a que. Everyone wants to look their best for the day ahead, so expect the early morning rush to cause many an argument other time spent in there -unless you have more than one.
- The kitchen.People jump in here for a quck bite to eat or their meals for the day. Although not as many people will be venturing in as they would the living room, it’ll still see various traffic from the family.
- The garage. To me, this room also counts as being part of the house.~ If your garage is not actually used for cars, it can be made into something else, like a hobby room or something else for everyone else to have fun in.If the garage has the car in itll be the family drivers that use it -looking after their car to make sure its ‘protected from the elements’.
