VOiP Business Information

OK. VoIP for businesses may not be the most immediately interesting subject, but in reality there is a telecoms revolution going on behind that acronym. Voice over Internet Protocol is the computerisation and “internet-isation” of the telephone system.

It is amazing when you think of it. In less than 15 years since the creation of the internet it has grown so much now in its reliability and acceptability that our voice phone systems can now largely be handled through it rather than the other way around.

Once you have a broadband connection, plus a VOiP service like Skype, these allow you to call others around the world for no additional charge as long as the connection ends at the other person’s PC. If you want to talk through the phone at the other end, then VoIP gives you international calls at local call rates, as they only charge for the call from the local exchange outwards to the other caller.
